Ilka Bessin is a German comedian and actress, who is best known for her role as Cindy aus Marzahn.

After finishing school, Bessin studied the culinary arts and later trained to be a hotel manager. She then lost her job as a cook during the reunion of Germany after the Berlin Wall fell. Shortly after that, she found a job as a waitress in a disco and later became the chief clerk. In 1999, she completely changed her career and decided to become an organiser on a cruise liner. It was there that she invented her character "Cindy".
In 2004, she won the final season of the Quatsch Comedy Club's Pro7 show. With this win, her career as a comedian and actress began. In 2009, she was set in the role of the landlady Ilka in the Sat.1 comedy show Schillerstraße. In January 2010, she got her own comedy show, named Cindy aus Marzahn und die jungen Wilden (en. Cindy from Marzahn and the young wild guys). In spring of 2011, the third season started Nicht jeder Prinz kommt uff'm Pferd! (en. Not every prince comes on a horse).
Cindy aus Marzahn is a the fictional character from the Berlin ghetto Marzahn. She is melancholic and has not had a job for a long time. She is single and has no luck with men because of her body, although she does have a daughter.
